The Cochrane IBD Group is part of Cochrane - an international network of people helping healthcare providers, policy makers, patients, their advocates and carers, make well-informed decisions about health care by preparing and publishing systematic reviews in The Cochrane Library.

The mission of the Cochrane IBD Group is to perform systematic reviews of health care interventions directed at ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease with a secondary interest in other intestinal disorders including Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, microscopic colitis, collagenous colitis, lymphocytic colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic constipation and diarrhea.
